Zanzibar Coffee House
ABOVE THE ROOFS OF STONE TOWN
The Zanzibar Coffee House offers a touch of magic and romance in an authentic Arabic house deep in the heart of Stone Town. Transformed into a stylish boutique hotel with harmonious interiors, antiques and rich fabrics, it is one of the oldest buildings in Zanzibar, constructed in 1885 by Sir Tharia Topan, Wazir to Sultan Said Bargash.
Enjoy a stay or a cup of our fine coffee creations with a breathtaking 360° view over the enchanting main city of Zanzibar.
The Café
Located on the ground floor, the Zanzibar Coffee House café takes pride in serving "Coffee Excellence" in the form of Cappuccino, Espresso, and other coffee creations. Grown by the sister company Utengule Estate in the Southern Highlands, our Arabica coffee belongs to the finest available worldwide. Apart from coffee, the café also serves a selection of cakes, muffins, wraps, mini-pizzas and other delicacies.
Opening hours
Every day from 8.30 am – 6 pm
The Rooftop
Our antique rooftop is like a crown on top of the building, offering a 360° view over the bustling Mkunazini area of Stone Town. The teak-wood doors with colourful windows above and the balustrade remained unchanged for 120 years, making this place a rare jewel and the perfect place for drinking coffee.
